DRUPADI was Samiaji's wife, a woman with a strong personality. In the story she was once at a state celebration and was embarrassed by Dursasana, a king from Astina, who loosened the knot of her hair. She than swore that she would never wear her hair in a knot again until she first washed her hair with Dursasana's blood. Her desire was fulfilled in the BRATAYUDA was after Dursasana had been killed by Bima.

The wayang has a strong tradition in the world of Java and Indonesia, representing the struggle between good and evil. This Wayang Golek puppet is on a base and stands a little over 25". She can be removed from the base and both the head and arms can be moved. It has very finely detailed carvings on the head, with vivid color and detailed paintings. The body is beautifully decorated in beads and Batik. Each Wayang Golek puppet is individually carved, painted and dressed by hand making each unique.
